Sentences reproduce by budding

When leaves fall, they turn over.
And that is what I have done-
In the tumbling pleasure and pain of falling,
I have changed, I have turned upside down,
No longer the same colour, with jagged edges.
I landed among the others, some still green.
Shielded underneath my first home in the branches,
My stem has broken, the innocent colour gone.
The fall exposed depths of my skin
Beyond the changing hues.
Torn and pierced by the wind,
I am a leaf.
